Who We Are

Playground Network is a group of dads that are online, digital dwellers that are always looking for ways to spend better time with their kids. We’re the new generation of dads that are taking a much more role in the day-to-day management of the family. We’re helping to manage the family calendar and do more family related shopping. Also, we over index on the spending when it comes to things like tech, games and toys. And we love to find new cool products to share with the rest of the family.

Principal

Mike Johnson is the founder of Playground Dad & Playground Network, LLC., a brand dedicated to dads spending better time with their kids. A veteran of the video game industry, Mike has been an expert of online marketing and social media for over a decade. As a founding partner of Next Impulse Media, he specializes in building niche websites for the modern man.

Mike empowers small businesses and creates stars out of community managers by helping them exceed business goals using North Social. Before joining the North Social team, Mike was putting together game-changing social strategies (literally) at Electronic Arts, building digital marketing campaigns and growing online communities for some of the gaming industries’ largest brands. In his most recent role at EA, Mike worked with the likes of Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Sony and Microsoft to help deliver blockbuster gaming content direct to consumers through a variety of digital distribution platforms. In addition to his duties at EA, Mike developed the social media strategy for Monster.com and their Keep America Working international job tour.

A graduate of Amherst College and a Playground Dad himself, Mike and his wife, Nellie, are the parents of 4 daughters – Ella, Sadie, Lilian, and Cora. They live in Palo Alto, CA.
